Virtual Video Workshop: Join NPPF and Poynter's NewsU

Dear dru,

Looking for video training but can’t afford to travel? Learn new video skills, improve your storytelling techniques and be inspired at the National Press Photographers Foundation’s Virtual Video Workshop on Saturday, Sept. 19. Join award-winning journalists in this innovative online edition of NPPF’s Airborne workshop.

In this all-day workshop, you’ll get detailed accounts from journalists on the creation of their videos. You’ll learn their methods, listen to their insights, watch their work and ask questions in this interactive online session. Plus, you’ll have access to the archived replay of the workshop when it becomes available.

Speakers include:

  • Darren Durlach, WBFF-TV in Baltimore, NPPA’s 2009 Ernie Crisp Television News Photographer of the Year
  • Boyd Huppert, KARE in Minneapolis, a three-time winner of the NPPA Special Award for Reporting
  • Greg T. Johnson, WFAA-TV in Dallas, NPPA’s 2009 Video Editor of the Year
  • Pierre Katta, WashingtonPost.com, Emmy Award-winning video producer
The NPPF Virtual Video Workshop starts at 10:15 a.m. Eastern time on Saturday, Sept. 19, and will be hosted by Regina McCombs, Virtual Teaching Faculty at The Poynter Institute, and Al Tompkins, Poynter’s Broadcast/Online Group Leader.

This daylong workshop costs just $45 for NPPA members or $30 for student members. The workshop is free for NPPA members who held a full-time job in journalism and are currently unemployed. Non-NPPA members pay just $55 for a full day of training. Sign up now to get these registration rates. If you wait until after the live event to purchase the archived replay, rates will be higher.

Can’t stay for the day? Your advance registration will give you access to the replay when it becomes available.
